I can't say enough good things about this nursery. Passionate and helpful staff and the fact that they focus on native plants only is so important. It is close enough for a drive and their online store is very convenient as well. I have bought many many plants from them and can't wait for them to open this year again.
I've shopped at Native Plants in Claremont for a few years now - both for home gardening as well as a school pollinator garden. They always have a wide selection and very helpful and friendly staff. Once you start adding native plant to your garden, it does not take long to see the benefits with the increased pollinators/butterflies and bird...I even had a daily pair of hummingbirds visit last summer (and no, I did not have a hummingbird feeder....they loved the red bee balm and the cardinal flowers). I highly recommend. I make the trip a few times each year and will go back again this year.
I made a daytrip to the nursery from the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto. The service was outstanding. I bought way too many plants and have no regrets. So excited that is April now and soon I can go in person again. If you are looking for quality Ontario native plants and very good service try this nursery. They also ship plants and they arrive in great condition.
I drove to the nursery from East York (about one hour) and had no problem finding it. The nursery is well stocked and everything is labeled properly. The owner and staff were all very knowledgeable and helpful, and definitely have a passion for native plants. I picked up two kits, one for shade and one for sun, as well as some ground cover. All of the plants were healthy and in great shape. Prices are very reasonable and I look forward to using their services again.
This is a lovely nursery where you can find all true Ontario Native plants. The property is beautiful with gardens all around that serve as seed banks for the species they grow and sell. I was encouraged to wander the gardens to see how the various plants grow and to see how different species may complement each other. Plants are well organized and in excellent condition, and reasonably priced. Lots of useful information on the signage for each plant as well. The staff are kind, warm and helpful. I will be back.
