Great garden place. Lots of local unique plants. I bought two different types that I've never seen available at other nurseries. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
I have bought plants two times at this location, both times it has been a very enjoyable and nice experience. The ladies at the register are friendly, talkative, and very informative when it comes to what must be done for the plants I had bought. From the wonderful website to the very cute location, Nativo Gardens is a location I will be returning to if I ever decide to get more flowers or native plants. Wonderful place.
I frequent a lot of local nurseries, so when I heard about a native plant nursery I hadn’t visited before, I was really excited to check it out. When you first pull in, there isn’t any clear parking area so it took me a few uturns to make it there. While browsing, I noticed that none of the plants had prices listed but very descriptive labeling and info on where to plant and how to care with a picture. They had a really nice selection and quite a few native species that are hard to find elsewhere. I picked up four 1-gallon containers, one large shrub, and three perennials. At checkout, I expected pricing to be in line with other nurseries in the area. Around $10–$13 for a 1-gallon perennial. My total was much higher than expected: $16.50 for each 1-gallon perennial and $18.50 for the 1 gal shrub. My jaw dropped a bit. I love supporting small businesses, so I went ahead with the purchase, but honestly, I won’t be returning at those prices. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for a 1-gallon perennial plant. To be fair, the employee who helped me was friendly and helpful. The nursery itself was beautiful, everything looked healthy, and it was well laid out. It’s just hard to justify those prices, especially when one of the perennials I bought is borderline hardy for my zone. I hope they do well in my garden, but the cost really left me stunned.
Nativo is a native plant shop set up as an open-air market, offering a wide variety of native plants suited for the region. The selection is diverse, making it easy to find options for different garden needs. The staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable, ready to provide guidance on plant care and selection. Prices are reasonable, making it an accessible choice for both new and experienced gardeners. It’s a great place to shop for native plants and learn more about sustainable landscaping. The best part is, it’s in the heart of the vibrant northside neighborhood.
It was a little weird to find, as it is between a restaurant and a neighborhood, and the parking is mostly on the street. There are lots of different plants, all native to north texas, and all have some level of description of how to care for them. They are really nice and even went out of their way to help me with a question about some plants I recently planted that I didn't get from them. Prices are really good, and the people are friendly. Great place to find plants that actually do well in our environment!
