Best place to buy native plants in Alabama. Showed up with a picture of the area I was planting, mentioned a budget and that I wanted to focus on hummingbirds, butterflies then birds and she picked out the native plants for me, even laid them out how I should plant them . Very knowledgeable about native plants. Definitely worth the drive! I highly recommend them if you are building a new home, redoing your landscape or in my case have a non productive area that you want to enhance. Tell your builder and landscaper about recreative natives

An absolute treasure in central Alabama. The owner is immensely knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The variety and condition of plants is so impressive. And the owner’s garden gives you an idea of how native plants can be used to create gardens of equal beauty and balance as those filled with more typical plants from big commercial nurseries. It was fascinating to learn about the host plants for butterflies and other beneficial garden helpers. The owner is also very responsive on Facebook and maintains a top notch website. All in all, one of the best nurseries I’ve ever been to. Well worth the drive; don’t miss the opportunity to visit Recreative Natives.

Worth the (beautiful) drive to Cropwell for this diverse selection of native plants. They have trees, blueberry bushes, flowers, vines, ferns, and more. The plants are in good shape and well priced.
