They do a fantastic job with small inventory but decent variety and strict adherence to native plants. Extremely personable/helpful and a must to check out in Northern California if looking for uncommon California Native perennials.
Wonderful place for California natives. I love how everything is divided by environment, versus plant type. I've had great success with plants here - including milkweed. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great nursery.
Haven’t been this impressed with plant quality at a nursery in a while. The containers they use make a huge difference. I went yesterday (late December) and the plants were looking excellent. They also have a wide variety to choose from, including species specifically suited for restoration projects, which the nursery also offers as a service. The signs above each section are beautiful and give a lot of info about sun exposure and water requirements based on location, much more info than other nurseries. It’s way beyond the simple full sun/part shade/full shade categorization.
This is one of my go-to nurseries for California Native Plants. They are so well-organized and frequently update their inventory. All the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about CA native plants. I recently purchased 131 red fescue grasses from this nursery for my garden and the plants are performing so well in the landscape. See photos for before and after. We are so fortunate to have this nursery in the Bay Area. I say this as both an avid gardener and a professional Licensed Landscape Architect.
Professional and tidy nursery. A wonderful space to shop with tons of variety of many different plants for all kinds of climates. Sale plants were clearly marked, dormant plants labeled, and individual pots have ID, as well as larger signs giving more info about the species. They recycle intact pots and offer discounts for new buyers. A really lovely place to visit, extremely well organized!
