About

The Missouri Native Plant Society (MONPS) is a dedicated organization promoting the enjoyment, preservation, conservation, restoration, and study of flora native to Missouri. Since its founding in 1979, MONPS has established itself as a leading voice in native plant advocacy through multiple chapters across the state, peer-reviewed scientific publications, and recognition of exceptional contributions to Missouri botany. The organization supports research through the Stan Hudson Research Grant program, funds ecological restoration projects, and provides educational opportunities including webinars and field trips. MONPS engages the community through awards programs recognizing conservation leaders, plant identification education, and initiatives addressing biodiversity monitoring and habitat restoration. Whether through membership, donations, participation in field trips, or research contributions, individuals can support MONPS's mission to advance scientific knowledge of Missouri's native plants while promoting their conservation for future generations.
