I can’t recommend KMS Native Plants enough. Kim is so knowledgeable and so generous with her time. She will help you find just what you need. I went for the first time this Saturday, on a fact finding mission, and couldn’t leave without buying eight plants. Her plants are incredibly healthy and she has a wide range. Do yourself a favor and go!
Kim's knowledge of native plants is extensive. As a novice gardener, she is an excellent resource as I build my garden. Kim also creates beautiful seasonal arrangements and planters.
This place is an absolute gem. Kim is so knowledgeable and provides so much guidance on how to select and care for these plants. Kim is passionate about native plants so she has great advice regarding native substitutes and additions to existing landscapes. Her nursery has tons of unique and hard to find native species, including those that support local insects and wildlife. I always leave with more than I intended, like Prairie Smoke, an amazing spring bloomer! She even dug something out of her garden for me when I admired it (Robin's plantain, so adorable!).
Kim was so knowledgeable and professional. I needed Long Island specific native plants to be a part of the Plant Rebate Program and she helped me decide which would be eligible, and told me information about each plant. She made the whole process easy and fun! She had so many different species to choose from and had a great variety. The plants were all very healthy and ready to plant at my home. Would HIGHLY recommend purchasing plants from KMS.
At the recommendation of a friend, I visited KMS Native Plants for the first time last fall. Kim helped me find a variety of beautiful native plants that would grow well in part sun and shady parts of my yard. I had such a positive experience, I was happy to return to KMS this spring to get more native plants. Kim is so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She truly is passionate about helping people find native plants that will work in the space that they have. I also appreciate that on her website she has a list of the plants she has in stock along with a brief description of them (for example, how big they get, when they bloom, how much light they need, what pollinators they help) and how much they cost.
