Every plant is native to some place. If you are interested in buying plants native to your region, check the tags carefully. My problem is that they are selling Ilex glabra 'Compacta' without offering a male, and so my inkberries will never bear fruit again unless I can find a 'Pretty Boy' on my own. My mistake, but the staff were not helpful in this case.

A lot of the plants at this nursery are cultivars but people believe they are buying a native plant. I wonder how these are impacting the pollinators and wild plants? Most people who are making the effort to incorporate native plants into their yard want pure natives. At the very least it should be made clear to the public. There are also plants native to other parts of the US at the nursery and not MA and this should be made clear as well. I would love to be able to buy just a pure native rhododendron and not some cultivar. Sigh.

Such a wonderful variety of native plants which are essential for the health of our songbirds, insect populations, and the ecosystem overall. They have helpful staff and clearly marked plants with descriptive signs about where it thrives in the wild or in the garden along with the eco type, plant height, and other typical characteristics. If there is a plant you can find in the woods or meadows in New England but can’t find anywhere else to purchase it, this is the place to find it. Also it’s part of the New England Native Plant Trust so members get 10% off. Certainly worth the drive for the fair prices and great native selection.

Such a treasure. A large selection of native plants at reasonble prices. Plants were healthy and well cared for. Staff were knowledgeable and generous with time and info. They had a good selection of ferns, lots of shade friendly plants and beautiful shrubs . What a wonderful selection of native plants from the sister farm to The Garden in the Woods in Framingham.
