One Nature is a dynamic, artist-led team dedicated to building a more sustainable, interconnected world. With decades of experience in ecological restoration, landscape construction, and plant nursery operations, they cultivate and sell 'more-than-organic' native, edible, and medicinal plants to help clients create vibrant, biodiversity-rich landscapes that support both people and the environment. Whether it's a backyard garden or a large-scale public project, One Nature's personal, adaptable approach focuses on hands-on work, thoughtful planning, and long-term stewardship to ensure healthy, thriving spaces for generations to come.
I'm an apartment kid and a complete newbie as a homeowner with a garden. Bryan and the staff at One Nature have been wonderful in helping me get my garden established and so generous with advice and suggestions. A couple of Joe Pye plants (which I had never even heard of before) never took root and they were replaced with no questions asked. Really lovely and helpful people. Now if I can just get the damn woodchucks to leave my trees alone!
This was an unexpected and lovely oasis on Main St., Beacon. I stopped in on a Monday and they were open, so I would suggest updating the store hours on Google Maps. I enjoyed walking through, smelling the flowers and having a friendly conversation with the employees. Nice looking plants, with quite a few native selections.
To start with, I think I've given 2 online reviews, including this one, in my life. We have had so many unsolicited compliments on our yard from complete strangers, neighbors, friends and family, and given so many recommendations, that writing this review just seemed necessary. We hired One Nature to help us plan out and execute the vision we had for our outdoor space. This included designing, making and installing a fence (which we wanted to simultaneously keep our dogs in without being unwelcoming), designing, making and installing three gates, one with a trellis leading to a newly created pollinator garden in an unfenced section of our yard, creating a stone path through the pollinator garden and adding flagstones and brick design on either side of our driveway, creating a stone skirt on two sides of our house, creating beds along the inside of our fence and planting with native flowering and berry producing bushes, and transplanting five existing established plants into better locations (rose bushes, phlox and yucca plants.) I should also mention that our yard is sloped, and the design they created for the driveway gate had to account for this slope; their solution was very clever, functions well, and looks great. From the beginning, everyone we dealt with at One Nature was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. Bryan and Blair met with us and discussed our vision, refined that vision, and provided drawings and sketches; discussed types of plants and placement; answered a multitude of questions and made suggestions based on our input; provided estimates and discussed pricing and payment details; and really listened to what we wanted. Work started sooner than we had expected, and was completed in about 6 weeks. Leah and Mike were the primary executors of the plan and were great at keeping things moving, answering questions, relaying information to Bryan or Blair, and great with our dogs who constantly wanted to be outside helping. After the work was done, the team checked on the plants' progess and replaced a few that didn't make it in the initial month; Blair has been back to take stock (about 2 months after completion) of how everything was doing. Since the plants are under warranty for a year, if anything doesn't make it through the winter, we know they will be replaced in spring. But honestly, most everything has been going gangbusters, and we expect only one, maybe 2 things will need replacing next year. All in all, it was a great experience, and they brought to life the vision we had for our yard. It is our oasis, yet shared with the neighborhood, as everyone can enjoy the flowers and berries and the wildlife they attract; and it is great to know we've given back a little bit of space to nature, but in a way that brings us joy every day. Thank you, team! HIGHLY recommend.
My husband and have been wanting to do an upgrade of our property for a very long time. We have several issues to address including hardscaping, garden renewal, replacement of shrubs and plantings, asphalt removal, you name it. After much consideration we decided to contract with One Nature in Beacon and start with the front garden and replacement of our crumbling, aged asphalt driveway. Their expert staff helped us design a beautiful plan that completely revised the driveway and front entry to our house using environmentally friendly materials, even reusing some stone that we had on the property. The new turfstone driveway will mitigate storm run off and new plantings will bring a welcoming environment to birds and beneficial insects using native plants. All the people we worked with from the owner, the landscape architect and plant specialist, and the construction crew were friendly, competent, respectful of our home and property and were always open to answering our many questions. They were responsible about our budget and offered a detailed proposal along with a breakdown of costs. Any changes that needed to be made, any additions or subtractions to our budget and billing concerns were dealt with with clarity and in a spirit of collaboration. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
I 100% recommend One Nature Plant Nursery. I’ve come a handful of times and staff is always super helpful. They have a large variety of native flowers, trees, shrubs, grasses, etc. I started a native pollinator garden two years ago and all my plants from One Nature are doing awesome. Love this place :)
