Master Gardener Program

About

The University of Missouri Extension Master Gardener Program empowers Missouri residents to become expert gardeners and environmental educators through comprehensive horticultural training. With nearly 50 Master Gardener chapters organized across the state, this program equips volunteers with in-depth knowledge to share gardening expertise and environmental education within their local communities. Master Gardeners provide unbiased, research-based gardening information to thousands of Missourians annually through hotlines, workshops, speaker bureaus, garden show booths, and demonstration projects. By combining structured training with meaningful volunteer service, the program strengthens community connections to gardening and environmental stewardship while expanding public awareness of University of Missouri Extension as a trusted resource for horticultural knowledge.
