About

The Native Plant Society of New Mexico is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting New Mexico's native plant heritage. As the state's leading voice for native plants, NPSNM works to educate the public about plant identification, ecology, and sustainable uses while fostering conservation of natural habitats and supporting botanical research. With chapters throughout the state including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, Las Cruces, and Gila, the organization engages communities in hands-on learning through field trips, presentations, and workshops. NPSNM empowers residents to make a positive environmental impact by encouraging the appropriate use of native plants to conserve water, land, and wildlife. Members and volunteers can participate in community events, access educational resources, and support conservation initiatives that protect New Mexico's unique botanical diversity.
