New Mexico Master Gardener Program
Las Cruces, New Mexico
About
The New Mexico Extension Master Gardener Program, based at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, is a comprehensive horticultural education initiative dedicated to advancing plant knowledge and gardening expertise throughout New Mexico. As part of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, the program serves as an engine for community development by training passionate plant enthusiasts to become Master Gardeners who share their knowledge with others. The program welcomes life-long learners interested in plants and gardening and provides pathways for community members to deepen their horticultural skills while contributing to local gardening initiatives. Through county chapters statewide and organized events like the annual NM State Master Gardeners' Conference, the program builds a network of educated gardeners who promote sustainable plant practices and environmental stewardship across New Mexico's diverse regions.
