Master Gardener Program

About

The New Mexico State University Extension Master Gardener Program is a community-focused initiative dedicated to advancing gardening knowledge and horticultural expertise across New Mexico. Operating through the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, the program serves as a bridge between university research and local communities, empowering plant enthusiasts to become skilled gardeners and educators. The Extension Master Gardeners Program welcomes lifelong learners who are passionate about plants and gardening and wish to share their knowledge with others in their communities. Through county chapters statewide and coordinated programming, the organization provides resources, training, and networking opportunities for gardeners at all levels. By connecting interested individuals with local Cooperative Extension Offices and established Master Gardener chapters, the program enables participants to deepen their understanding of regional plant cultivation while contributing to community development and environmental stewardship throughout New Mexico.
